About the course

This short course provides basic skills and understanding of Counselling and offers a sound foundation to Counselling as a profession. The course aims to provide learning in effective communication and understanding others as well as ourselves. It is suitable for anyone working in a front-line capacity as well as those with a general interest in the subject.

Topics covered by this course include:

Personal development
Basic concepts of counselling
Core conditions
Counselling techniques
Confrontation techniques

The course adopts creative methods of learning and will focus on group interaction and 1 to 1 role play. By the end of the programme attendees will have a deeper understanding of themselves and how they relate to others and will have covered the basic skills to progress within the field of Counselling.

Learners will be offered a 1 to 1 informal review at the end of the course.
