• IT User
• Management

• Supporting Teaching and Learning in schools

Apprenticeships consist of learning the theory in the college (either a Tuesday daytime or an evening, depending on the course), and attending work to learn the skills of the trade and how your business works.

What is the cost?

Employers should remember that they could obtain free training for staff under the age of 19, as funding normally covers all training costs for this group. However, the Business Training Partnership can also deliver apprenticeship training to those over 19 years old, including existing employees and new starters. All courses have 50% funding by the government.

There are sometimes £1500 grants for small or medium sized businesses who offer apprentices a placement.
