Are you interested in becoming a governor at Collyer's

  • Do you have an interest in post-16 education and training?
  • Do you want to help the young people of today develop into the leaders of tomorrow?

If so, you might be interested in becoming a governor, at some time in the future, of this successful and expanding college, which provides excellent education for both students aged 16-18 years and for adults. Working as part of a team, governors are responsible for helping to decide the college’s educational character, defining future strategy and ensuring the proper application of public resources. Governors are volunteers and normally attend about 10 meetings a year at the college (3 Governing Body meetings, 3 Committee meetings and 4 other functions); these meetings are currently held during the day (not evenings).

We are particularly interested in hearing from local residents who have expertise in Human Resources, Law or Science & Technology. However, it is your commitment, skills and experience that are needed to ensure that the college is a centre “educating for excellence”.

Those wishing to make a preliminary visit to this sixth form college should arrange an appointment with the Clerk to the Governing Body.
