Music Bursaries

Music has long been at the heart of the Collyer’s community and across generations of students performance in college productions has shown the rare ability and outstanding achievements. More recently Collyer’s has become the proud home of West Sussex Music and the special relationship between our two organisations will help grow engagement in music locally and across the county.

Recognising the challenge of improving musical skills at the very top level, Collyer’s is pleased to offer bursaries to support private music tuition outside of the classroom as follows:

  •  10 hours of music tuition per academic year
EligibilityStudents in year one or two. Those not studying Music may also apply
TimingAt any point across the two years of study from enrolment onwards
CriteriaWorking towards Grade 8, preparing for an application to a conservatoire or finding music tuition fees difficult due to financial circumstances
ApplicationAll applicants should submit a personal statement of maximum 300 words to the Director of Music – Ben Dowsett
SelectionBursaries are selected by the Director of Music
Support10 hours of music tuition per academic year (fees agreed on an individual basis)
