About the course
This course helps to develop effective practical mathematics skills which will be useful in work and life.
Subjects covered include:
Using whole numbers, fractions, decimals, and percentages
Using formulae
Calculating interest and discounts on amounts of money
Converting between different units and measures
Using scales, plans and elevations
Understanding geometric diagrams, models and shapes
Understanding statistics, charts and diagrams and probability
You should expect to complete 2 hours of homework per week in addition to class attendance and exam revision.
Entry requirements
Learners must take an initial assessment followed by a full diagnostic to establish that they are ready to study at this level.
Assessment
There is a controlled internal assessment for each level.

Please bring a notebook, pen and calculator
Progression
Learners who achieve their Level 2 qualification may progress on the Maths GCSE.
