About the course
This qualification provides an initial qualification in counselling which can provide a progression route to becoming a qualified counsellor. It enhances and improves written communication skills, promotes personal growth and provides basic industry knowledge.

Counselling skills and personal development
Using counselling skills
Introduction to Counselling skills theories
Diversity and ethics in the use of Counselling Skills
Entry requirements
Students should have previously attended an Introduction to Counselling, either at Collyer’s or elsewhere and have a Certificate of Participation.
Assessment
You will build a portfolio during the course. The course assessments include written questions and practical elements. They are assessed through a range of methods including observation and a reflective log or journal. You should expect to complete an average of 3 hours of homework per week in addition to class attendance.

Fees
This course is co-funded by the Government meaning that all students benefit from reduced fees.
Full funding may be available for learners who are unemployed, are employed and earn less than £16,009.50 per annum or who are aged 19-23 and don’t hold a first full Level 2 qualification. Contact us to find out more
