|Time:||7 -9pm||Duration:||30 weeks|
|Time:||7 -9pm||Duration:||30 Weeks|
About the course
Students will be exposed to a wide variety of techniques and artists to expand their horizons and encourage creative experimentation. We will work in a range of different media, for example:
- Drawing – pastel, charcoal, pen and ink
- Painting – acrylics and watercolours
- Printmaking – mono print and lino print
We will also be looking at the 7 elements of art: the stylistic features that are included within an art piece to help the artist communicate. The seven most common elements are line, shape, texture, form, space, colour and value.
Techniques and projects change each year and sessions focus on a theme, experimenting to develop new ideas for future projects.
Learners will attend weekly lessons in college. The required materials are included in the course fees.
Learners also benefit from access to the college library during our evening opening times, including computers, study stations, print-based and electronic learning materials, printers and scanners.
This course is suitable for anyone who enjoys the challenge of experimentation. The course is tailored to suit individual needs, from beginners to advanced students.
