Creative Digital Photography
About the course
This is a practical course, with hands on technical aspects, including Adobe Photoshop editing. Prior experience using the software is not necessary.
Creative Digital Photography is a course designed to allow students to take their images to the next level in a more creative and resourceful way. Each week, students will capture images relating to a mini challenge / brief.
Students will learn the tricks behind common creative photographs, such as water and oil, floating food photography, digital mandalas and many more. Students will use budget equipment and household items to create photographs so the fun can continue beyond the classroom!
Learners will attend weekly lessons in college.
You will need a DSLR or Mirrorless camera capable of shooting in Aperture Priority and Shutter Speed Priority for this course. Please do get in contact if you are unsure if your camera meets this requirement. Additional lenses are welcome but not necessary. A tripod would be beneficial, so please bring one if you have one.
Learners also benefit from access to the college library during our evening opening times, including computers, study stations, print-based and electronic learning materials, printers and scanners.
Students wishing to take the Creative Digital Photography course should have a basic understanding of the camera’s priority modes and would be at an advantage having knowledge of how ISO and white balance affect photographs.
