Preparing for life after Collyer’s As Sixth Form specialists, we have a great deal of expertise in supporting students to prepare for the future. Our Progression Programme is designed to help you develop the skills, knowledge, experience and confidence that you need, to be successful at college and beyond. Progression information, advice and guidance are delivered through the tutorial programme, subject enrichment and a range of specialist events and activities, to ensure holistic support for the diverse career ambitions of all our students: • 1-1 advice and guidance on progress, goals and future direction. • Access to Unifrog – a complete destinations platform to support research, decision-making, applications and preparation for university, apprenticeships, and jobs. • Dedicated Careers, Higher Education, and Oxbridge SharePoint sites housing all the information students need to plan their future steps. • Progression information events and an online platform of resources for students and parents, supporting UCAS and apprenticeship applications. • Subject-related careers fairs and enrichment opportunities such as residential visits, guest speakers, workshops with professionals, academics and business leaders. • A programme of Higher Education enrichment throughout the year including visits from university representatives, visits to UCAS events and mock interviews. • Apprenticeship events, mock interviews and assessment centres. • A Work Experience Week for first year students during their summer term. • A dedicated Oxbridge Programme for students aspiring to study at Oxford or Cambridge. • A dedicated Work Experience Coordinator supporting opportunities to access in-person and virtual work experience. • Bespoke Higher Education and Careers support in the Library. • Next Steps Careers events for students and parents with representatives from major employers, apprenticeship providers and college leavers who themselves elected to go directly into employment or workplace training. • Young Enterprise Scheme and the Challenge of Management Event each year, to support the development of employability skills and recruitment preparation through challenges alongside business experts. • Support for CV writing and Employability Skills development. • Work-related learning for Transition students. • A bespoke Employability course (optional for second year students). www.collyers.ac.uk 42
