It involves sequencing, live and studio recording, listening, analysing and basic pop harmony. Students can then choose to specialise one unit in either performance, if they sing and/ or play an instrument, OR live sound engineering. Qualities required are the intention to increase their current music or technical abilities (whatever level that may be), improve on these skills outside of lessons and engage in regular teamwork with a strong personal creative motivation. Single Double Triple Specific entry requirements Grade 4 in English Language Sport BTEC National Level 3 (Pearson) This BTEC Diploma course can be taken as a single or double option and each option is equivalent to one or two A Levels. The courses are assessed through coursework, practical demonstrations and external assessment. The content is very diverse, topics range from anatomy and fitness training, to sports development and nutrition. A range of teaching methods will be used, including theory based lessons, practical sport, workshops and seminar based lessons. Although we encourage all students to be participating in sport, they do not get assessed as a performer in their sport. The course is designed to provide an introduction to the sector for learners looking to build a career in sport or wishing to access the range of sports related degree courses now available in universities. It is not possible to study both BTEC Level 3 Sport and A Level Physical Education. Single Double Triple Specific entry requirements Grade 4 in English Language + Grade 4 in either Maths or a science Travel and Tourism BTEC National Level 3 (Pearson) This new and updated BTEC course can be taken as a single option, equivalent to one A Level, or a double option equivalent to two A levels. The course is designed to provide students with a firm basis for progression into higher education where popular degrees include International Tourism Management or Sustainable Tourism Management. It also gives students the knowledge and transferable skills required to enter the workplace after completing their course. The core units focus on how the travel industry operates as a business, how different areas interrelate and how tourism is marketed across the world. We will also look at different destinations and their importance by investigating their features and developing the skills needed to examine, interpret and analyse a variety of statistics that measure the importance of tourism. There are units on customer service where we explore and apply ways of managing the internal and external customer experience to support organisational success and to develop customer service skills. The assessment is a combination of work-related assignments set and marked internally by the college, external tasks which will include practical, work-related activities, set and marked by the exam board and written externally set exams.
