Technical Courses Digital Software Development T Level (Pearson) The Digital Software Development T Level is a full-time Level 3 qualification, equivalent to three A Levels. A key feature is a minimum 45-day industry placement, providing valuable experience in a professional environment. The course combines core digital knowledge with specialist training in software development, with a focus on applying skills in realistic scenarios and projects. Students will develop the ability to: • Analyse problems and define effective software solutions • Design, build, test, and improve programs • Work collaboratively in a professional environment • Maintain and support software systems • Use reliable research to inform development • Apply ethical, legal, and security principles. This course is suitable for those aiming for careers in software development, cyber security, or related digital roles. On completion, progression routes include employment, higher or degree apprenticeships, or university study. The qualification carries UCAS points. Triple Specific entry requirements Grade 4 in English Language and Grade 4 in Maths. Education and Early Years T Level (NCFE CACHE) The Education and Early Years T Level is a full-time level 3 technical course. The course provides UCAS points to the value of 3 A Levels and is an excellent direct progression route into higher education or degree level apprenticeship. Written with the involvement of early years employers, the qualification also leads to ‘licence to practice’ as an Early Years Educator (E.Y.E.) successfully giving students the skills, qualification & experience required for employment as a Level 3 practitioner in a range of early years settings. In Year 1 students will gain core knowledge, concepts and skills relevant to education and care from birth to 16 years of age, including: child development, safeguarding, legislation, SEND, behaviour, equality & diversity and the role of the early years practitioner. In Year 2 students will study additional ‘occupational specialist’ content related to early years education and care from birth to 5 years, including: supporting children’s play, learning & development, relationships with children, planning & provision, safeguarding & wellbeing and partnership working. A mandatory 750 hrs industry training is required to achieve the qualification. This will be undertaken two days a week in a range of settings, provided by the college, working with children aged six months to five years. Students will develop vocational competency to engage children and work with others to plan and lead activities to meet children’s needs.
