About the Course
This course enables more advanced learners to express their ideas confidently, clearly and effectively through both the spoken and written word and it focuses on communicative tasks, cultural insights and enhanced grammar.
More specifically, the course will cover the following topics:
– Reading and discussing news articles and/or the media
– Listening to conversations, summarising and identifying colloquialisms
– Expressing agreement and disagreement
– Debating a range of topics such as traditions, mass tourism, extreme sports, lifestyle and/or fears/phobias
– Creating and responding to questionnaires
– Exploring a range of media such as cartoons, reviews, photographs, poetry and songs and supporting opinions with evidence
– Expressing hypothetical situations and consequences
Delivery
Learners will attend weekly lessons in college. This course may incorporate an element of live remote lessons where appropriate. It is recommended you have access to a PC, laptop or other suitable device.
Adult education students are given limited access to the library at Collyer’s. The library is available term-time only between 4.30pm and 6pm Monday to Thursdays and from 4.30pm until 5pm on Fridays. The library facilities include computers, study stations, print-based and electronic learning materials, printers and scanners.
There is also a special study room set aside for adult education students on the second floor of the library. Please ask a member of library staff to give you admittance.
Course suitability
This course is suitable for learners who have completed a Spanish Intermediate course and wish to progress further.

Fees
A deposit of £75 is due at the point of booking to secure a place on the course. The balance of the course fee is due one week before the start of the course.
