Sustainability

As one of the leading sixth form colleges in the country, it is vital that Collyer’s engages fully with its educational responsibility to support environmental sustainability. Our college has been at the heart of the local community for nearly five centuries and as we embark on significant development of our estate we must consider the environmental implications of this growth, how our community travel to the college and how we can raise awareness to promote positive approaches to sustainability.

We have pledged to become a Leading College for Sustainability by 2023 by adopting the climate action roadmap agreed by the Climate Commission for UK Higher and Further Education in June 2020. Our Principal Dan Lodge explained the college’s commitment:

“Environmental sustainability is critical for all of our college community. Climate change is an important challenge for all organisations to address and we have a duty to play our part in this response. Over the next few years Collyer’s will actively work towards the targets in the climate action roadmap. ”
