The highly regarded Collyer’s drama department has been producing on-line drama shows and materials, in preparation for a return to live drama studio lessons and assessed work.

Collyer’s Head of Drama, Neil Kendall, explained: “While schools and colleges have been wrestling with lockdown, many performance subjects have been experimenting with online shows. 2020 Vision is the culmination of devised performances from our second year students, including work completed while they were still allowed in class before Christmas. The pieces were a huge success and showcased some outstanding rehearsal work for the students’ families and the wider Collyer’s community to enjoy.”

The talented students involved in the creative performances for Lockdown Theatre were: Maya Bradshaw, Evan Cane, Zoe Chalmers, Lucy Dennis; Rebecca French; Charlotte Hall, Becca Holt, Lewis Howitt, Alys Jutson, Jack Lunniss; Kiri Patel; Tegan Pearce, Barbara Raimundo, Alex Smith, Ella White, Darcy Bartlett; Iona Cousins; Faye Davies, Joe Elliott, Caitlin Faroo, Esther Fung; Sam Hodge; Tyler James, Katie Marshall, Fay McLachlan, Kira Piggott and Matt Roberts.

Neil added: “Massive thanks to Marcus Bell, our Performing Arts Technician, who expertly edited together our devised work from earlier in the academic year.”

Vice Principal (Curriculum) Rob Hussey said: “We have an outstanding drama department and these students are an absolute credit to Collyer’s. Huge thanks to Neil and Marcus for helping to make this Lockdown Theatre project possible.”
