News Men’s Rugby Title On the Line 20.03.2026
Collyer’s men’s rugby team beat Esher College 52-17 at Horsham Rugby Club this week, maintaining their lead at the top of the table and moving them closer to securing the AOC (Association of College’s) South East North title.
This year the talented team have enjoyed a fantastic season, beating top sides including Godalming College, Henley College and the Sixth Form Farnborough.
Collyer’s Coach, Patrick Viol said: “I’ve been really proud of the leadership from players such as Ollie Thorne and Rory Daniel. Two seasons ago we struggled to compete, but the group have really bought into the training, intensity and intelligence required to succeed at this level.”
John Burroughs, Head of the Collyer’s Sports Academy said: “Our Sports Academy at Collyer’s goes from strength to strength and our men’s rugby team have performed wonderfully across the region. Let’s hope the team can now get over the line and win some silverware!”
Coach Viol added: “To be on the verge of winning the league represents huge progress. The players should be incredibly proud of their achievements and how hard they have worked all season.”
