News Freshers’ Start At Collyer’s! 21.09.2026

Collyer’s different clubs and societies, including external organisations, promoted extra-curricular enrichment opportunities to Collyer’s students at the annual Freshers’ Fair.

Internal clubs & Societies stands included: Black Students Society, Collyer’s Wellbeing Workshops, Christian Union, Comedy Writing Group, Couch to 5k Running Club, Dungeons and Dragons; Feminist Society, Gender Society, Jazz Ensemble, Kirsty Brown Talks; Lego Club, Library, Model UN, Panto; RCU (Richard Collyer Student Union), Trans Society, Rocket Design and Build, and Young Enterprise.

Collyer’s Tutorial and Enrichment Co-ordinator, John Burroughs said: “The clubs and societies were enthusiastically promoted, which was absolutely fantastic to see! It was great to welcome so many new and returning students to our Freshers’ Fair.

“The atmosphere was wonderfully positive and we can’t wait to get cracking, as this year promises to be the best ever thanks to those who have put in so much work to make these enrichment activities possible.”

Other exhibitors on show included: Greater Thameslink Railway, Horsham Bridge Club, the NHS, Springboard, West Sussex Fire Reserves Service, and the West Sussex Library Service.

Rebecca Adams, Collyer’s Director of Progression, added: “We are hoping the students will make good use of some of the wonderful opportunities out there.

“Colossal thanks to those who managed the stands and celebrated their enrichment activities so positively. They are a credit to the Collyer’s community.”
