About Level 2 Certificate in Health and Social Care

Our Level 2 Certificate in Health and Social Care course is an appropriate qualification for those are working in, or intending to work in, the healthcare and social care sectors.

The course includes three compulsory modules:

  • Equality, diversity and rights in health and social care
  • Human growth and development
  • Safeguarding and protection in health and social care

Entry requirements

You should be aged 19+

You should have English GCSE grade C/4 or above, or the Level 2 equivalent.

Assessment

Assessment is via written coursework. Work is submitted and assessed via an electronic portfolio which demonstrates how you have met the assessment criteria for the course.

You should expect to complete at least 3 hours of homework per week in addition to class attendance.

Progression

Learners may progress on to an Access to HE Diploma course. This qualification may also support progression into job roles within the health and social care sector including care support worker, healthcare assistant or community based- support worker.

Induction

Students are required to attend a College induction prior to the course start date.

Fees

A £50 deposit is payable at the point of booking.

This course may be free (fully funded) to students who are:

  • 19-23 and don’t already hold a full Level 3 qualification.
  • Unemployed, employed or self-employed and earn below £25,000 annual gross income

This course is co-funded by the Government, meaning that all qualifying students benefit from reduced fees. The fee for this course is £850. Our advertised fees take this funding into account. The balance of the course fee is due one week before the start of the course. Students can apply upon booking to pay the balance in instalments.

Prior to enrolling on any qualification course, please consider carefully if you have the time to commit to this course.

If you start a course and do not complete it, or if your attendance rate is low, this might affect your eligibility to join funded courses in the future.

Our qualification courses are government funded and it is our responsibility to ensure that the funding is used effectively to help learners progress and develop. We will work with you to ensure that you achieve your personal goals and those of the course.
