News Collyer’s Rewards New Students 22.12.2025
Collyer’s presented bursaries to a group of new students this week, in recognition of their outstanding results at school. Bursaries were awarded to those joining the Collyer’s community from partner schools and to students achieving top grades from north, south, east, and west of Horsham.
Aine Burke, who joined Collyer’s from Millais, Eleanor Lewsley (Hurst), Ben Loffler (Bohunt Horsham), Mukund Mahesh (Warden Park), Zac Nicholson (Oathall); Luoana Patrascu (Gatwick), Phoebe Payne (Duke of Kent), Samritha Rajkumar (ICC), Niamh Stanley (Tanbridge House), Holly Wellman (Ashcombe) and Hayden Whitlock (Forest) were each presented with a cheque by Collyer’s Executive Principal, Dan Lodge.
Dan Lodge explained: “It is important that Collyer’s rewards some of our new students for their academic success in year 11 and recognises the outstanding work of our excellent partner schools. We attract students from right across the region, so it is fitting that we should also celebrate the achievements of those coming to us from farther afield.
“I’m sure the money will be put to good use to help support their education or extra-curricular activities while at Collyer’s.”
Aine Burke said: “I want to say a huge thank you to my teachers, who supported me, dealt with my constant questions and marked my endless practice papers; as well as the medical and inclusion staff who gave me a quiet space to be calm and focus when the classroom was too much. Of course my biggest thank you goes to my family, who supported me and gave me the opportunity to work so hard. I could never have achieved this without all these people and I will forever be grateful”
Luoana Patrascu said: “I’d just like to thank my family and former teachers for the support they offered me.”
Samritha Rajkumar was delighted: “I would like to thank my teachers at Ifield Community College and my family for supporting me. I am very thankful to Collyer’s for this recognition and I hope this motivates me to do even better in my A level examination and encourages all students to aim high”.
Niamh Stanley added: “Sometimes I found school really hard but I’m glad all my hard work has pulled off and I am loving college and all the amazing experiences they’re providing for me”.
Collyer’s Deputy Principal Steve Martell told the students: “I’m confident that your individual success stories can continue into advanced level and beyond. You’ve all made a great start to life at Collyer’s.”
