A group of Collyer’s students from drama and dance had the opportunity to take part in a two-day residential in London’s West End. The students enjoyed a tour of the V&A Theatre Museum, and watched productions of ‘Six’, ‘The Crucible’ and ‘Come from Away’. In addition, the group took part in professional workshops with the cast from the shows – in the world-famous Pineapple Studios!
Neil Kendall, the Head of Drama and Theatre Studies at Collyer’s, explained: ‘Located in the heart of the West End Theatre district, Pineapple Studios is a famous rehearsal studio, used by stars such as Beyoncé, Madonna, and Kylie Minogue.
“Our students are always looking for ways to fuse physical theatre with music, so this workshop was the perfect opportunity. Everybody stepped up!”
Collyer’s Vice Principal (Pastoral) Andrea John, said: “Massive thanks to Neil Kendall and the drama and dance team for organising these wonderful opportunities for our students.”
Neil added; “Enormous thanks to the V&A Theatre Museum, the West End performers and all at Pineapple Studios for hosting us – they’ve been superb and gave us an incredibly warm welcome.
“The sessions were brilliant, and the students acquitted themselves wonderfully!”
