News Foundation Skills Development Day “Valuable” 05.01.2026
Collyer’s recently welcomed the Army who ran three activities to support the students’ leadership and team building skills.
Collyer’s Rebecca Adams, Director of Progression and Personal Development at the leading sixth form college, explained: “Students worked in pairs and teams to hone essential skills which they will then apply to a real working environment during Work Experience Week in the summer term.
“Lots of fun was had, some of it physical and some more tactical – but all activities required a degree of teamwork in order to achieve the challenging objectives.”
The students also enjoyed a presentation on the wide range of careers available in the Army, including: medical, HR, teaching, PT instructors, logistics, finance, IT, engineers, intelligence, law, military police, chef, and photographers.
Andrea John, Vice Principal (Pastoral) at Collyer’s added: “Massive thanks to the Army for creating this hugely valuable practical learning opportunity for our Foundation students.”
