Initiatives Crisp Packets 15.03.2023

The college has successfully collaborated with Sussex Green Living to establish two large crisp packet recycling bins. Sussex Green Living donated the bins as well as practical fabric liners to make them easy to empty. The Premises team then customised the bins so that only crisp packed could be posted into them, by cutting a thin slot in the lid and padlocking the lid closed. The RCU designed posters for the bins to identify what could go in them. Once full, the two fabric sacks were taken to Sussex Green Living’s Recycling Hub and processed into boxes by their fantastic volunteers. It is planned to expand the range of wrappers that can be put in the bins and involve students in enrichment activities, helping to sort the waste
