Collyer’s students, including those studying media and film, attended a targeted universities and careers day at the college, focussing on progression into the creative industries, one of the largest and fastest growing employers in the UK.

During the morning, presentations were delivered by seven universities from across the south, including the University of the Creative Arts, Sussex University, Ravensbourne University, Bournemouth University and the University of Falmouth. Students then attended a careers fair to get one to one time with experts from the universities of their choice.

Jonathan Nunns said: “It was an inspirational day, providing students with the tools to build a pathway to their career.

“Many students have commented on how much this has opened their eyes to the full range of opportunities now available.”

Collyer’s Director of Progression, Ian McAlister, said: “Thanks to Jonathan and the brilliant media and film team for making this event possible.”

Vice Principal (Pastoral) Andrea John said: “We owe huge thanks to these top universities for taking time out to support this wonderful event. The creative industries are starting to flourish again, so it’s important we help our students to make informed decisions about their career pathways
