About the Course
This course introduces the techniques of oil painting and gives students the confidence to produce high quality contemporary artwork. Topics include:
Producing a transfer drawing
Using wipe-out techniques to produce an under-painting
Building up a painting using “dead colouring”
Completing it using direct painting, “scumbling” and “glazing”
Equipment
Materials are not included in the cost of this course. Students will need to bring oil paints, an arm palette, canvas, brushes, and some ancillary items. A full list will be provided at the point of booking.
Course suitability
This course is suitable for both beginners with a small amount of experience in oil painting and intermediate students who want to deepen their knowledge.
Progression
Another art-related course such Drawing for Beginners, Life Drawing, Portrait Drawing and Painting or the Art Class.
