Sports Centre

Sports Centre

Our current Cowley Sports Centre was completed in the late 90s when the college had less than 1,000 students. We now have 2,200 students and expect to grow to 3,000 by 2030. Extremely well-used, both by our students in the daytime and the local community both young and older in the evenings and at weekends, our 4-court sports hall is increasingly cramped for our own use and cannot be used for major competitions or larger local club use. It was also originally built on the edge of our campus, but as other new buildings have been added such as the Library (2003), the Graham Baird Building (2014) and the new Shelley Building (2022) it is now compromising social space and walkways for students, staff and visitors.

A new 8-court modern Sports Centre, located right next to a new 4G pitch and access road as well as the car park, will not only future proof our facilities for our own students but provide a much-needed resource for local school children and sports clubs. With Collyer’s so central to Horsham and very close to the train station, we are an ideal location for this fantastic space. Collyer’s students perform regionally and nationally at a very high level and to have double the space we have now with additional viewing areas will be incredibly exciting for the college and its reputation as a centre for excellence.
